General principle of Save/Publish
The difference between saving and publishing a project is important in MySurvey Manager.
Saving a project consists of recording the state of modifications in a lightweight way (locators.csv file and temporary site_structure.xml file).
Saving does not modify/convert any data. If input data is moved or deleted, this save will not allow recovery of this data.
Similarly, if the save is manually altered (LOCATORS_RAW folder modified), MySurvey Manager cannot guarantee project integrity.
Publishing converts necessary data and moves/copies and reorganizes final project data. A project can only be published once. When you want to make modifications to it, MySurvey Manager will force the user to publish the modified project in a new folder so as not to alter the original project.
Saving a Project

Saving a project using the floppy disk-shaped button generates, if they do not exist, the locators.csv and site_structure.xml files of the LOCATORS_RAW folder in the project's DATA folder.
The "locators.csv" file contains the list of all stations (SCAN, UHD, POI) of the project, whether published, external, or unconverted (Editable with Excel or another spreadsheet).
The "Site_Structure.xml" file contains the list of levels and the plan calibration and altitude of each level (Editable with NotePAD++ or another text editor).
When saving is performed in MySurvey Manager, these files must not be open in other applications (Excel, NotePad++, etc.) at the risk of preventing MySurvey Manager from accessing these files to write to them.
For MySurvey Manager to reread these files after editing them, the "Reload SiteStructure" button allows rereading these 2 files.
Publishing a Project

The "Publish" button will have several effects once pressed:
- Unconverted elements (UHD, Plans) will be converted and temporarily placed in the LOCATORS_RAW folder
- Elements converted external to the project (Raw locators, Raw UHD) will be copied into the project
- Elements that have just been converted will be moved into the project
A notification at the bottom right of MySurvey informs of the publication progress and at the end displays the published project ID.
Publishing Project Modifications
When editing a MySurvey project, there is still 1 limitation:
- The MYP file cannot be edited
Apart from this issue, modification proceeds as for a new project except at publication time. MySurvey Manager will detect that the project has already been published (To do this, it checks if there are stations with "PUBLISHED" status).
In this case, it will force the user to choose a new folder where to publish the project. This folder cannot be the current project. If the chosen folder is not empty, it will empty it before publication. All files will be copied, ensuring the original project is not altered.
At the end of publication, MySurvey Manager will ask the user if they want to keep the project ID or create a new one with the republication date at the end.
